Ingredients for waffles
Makes around 4/5 waffles depending on the size of your waffle machine.
1. Two cups of plain flour
2. 350 ml milk
3. 80g butter, melted
4. 4 tsp baking powder
5. 2 tbsp sugar (I used brown sugar)
6. 2 whole eggs
7. 1 tsp vanilla extract
8. 1 tsp salt
Method
1. In a large bowl mix together the flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar and then set this aside.
2. Heat the waffle machine up while making the rest of the mixture.
3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Then slowly stir in the milk, butter, and vanilla.
4. Pour the wet milk mixture into the flour mixture and whisk until smooth and blended.
5. Ladle the batter into the preheated waffle machine and cook until golden and crisp. Serve immediately with any topping of your choice.
Prep all the ingredients before and set up a clean work station
Pour the batter in carefully and make sure not to add too much, it will just spill over on the sides and make a mess.
The waffle should be crisp and golden when complete!
Serve the waffle warm with any toppings desired! Enjoy!
Recipe notes:
- Make sure the waffle machine is properly preheated and warm before pouring the batter in.
- Ensure that there is not too much batter otherwise, the batter will spill out and cause a mess.
- To make perfect waffles, spread a bit of butter on the waffle machine to make sure the waffle does no stick to the machine. I used an olive oil fry light spray.
